We will be talking with Vince Heywood who works on and drives a 1940 Oldsmobile. It has satin black paint with scallop flames and red wheels with small caps. The name “Lucille” is hand-painted next to a pin-up girl. All that is below a massive pinstriping scroll that sits on the hump trunk.
Where does his generation want to take the car culture? We will be talking with Vince about his build and to get his “youthful” insights about where the car scene is going.
Ian Roussell has been quoted saying that Victor is the most challenging of all his clients and he wouldn’t want it any other way. On the show – Full Custom Garage – we see Victor bringing custom build ideas to Ian. These builds can range from ripping the skin off a Porsche 911 and fabricating a complete supercar body – to – blowing a new unusual multi-bubble – bubble top for a futuristic Thunderbird.
We are honored that Victor has agreed to talk with us because even though he’s on TV, he doesn’t give many interviews.
Mr. Jalopy has had three of his cartoon drawings made into drivable vehicles. There is the Johnny 5 VW van/truck resting on a t-bucket setup. Then there is the Space Junkie 2 bubble top, slotted mohawk shaped fins with an all-in-one steering, gas pedal, and brakes. Next, there is the Funky Futura From Ventura dune buggy show ride that was made with a truck cap and a can of Great Stuff insulating foam.
